our short puppy story

LEARN A LITTLE MORE ABOUT OUR FAMILY AND OUR MAGGIE

We’ve had Maggie since February 2023 when my little sister brought her back home from MO. Maggie was 10 weeks old. She was such a sweet and loving puppy with long and lanky legs. She was on the shy side - much appreciated as a mom of 5 young children.

The Irish Setter has proven to be such a wonderful family dog. After our two Weimaraners passed in 2022, I knew it would be a matter of time before we chose a new pup for our family. I read and read about which breed would do best with children, other animals and farm life. Which breed would be loyal and safe. Sweet and endearing.

Over and over the Irish Setter kept popping up. In fact, most everyone I have talked to about them says they knew of a family that had one growing up or they themselves had one growing up. But you don’t see many of them anymore. I’m hoping we change that!

Miko (the sire)

Pictured here is Miko at home on his second birthday. He belongs to Mr. Chuck King - just over the Georgia/Tennesee line.

He and Maggie were instant buddies.

This will be Miko’s and Maggie’s first litter together.

Maggie (the dam) growing up

Look back on some of our sweetest memories as Maggie grew up.

My sister brought her home from MO in February 2023. What a sweet addition to our family! She was worth the wait.
